• Deportation defense. Facing deportation is a terrifying thing. If you are living in the United States and are facing deportation because of the expiration of a visa, because you are within the country unlawfully, or because you have been convicted of certain criminal charges, it is in your best interests to seek legal counsel immediately.

• Family-based immigration. Any foreign citizen who is wishing to live within the U.S. must have an immigrant visa to do so. One way that an immigrant can secure a visa is through the sponsorship of a family member. The immediate family member must be a green card holder who is at least 21 years of age. • Citizenship and naturalization. An immigrant who is living within the United States for an extended period of time may seek citizenship through naturalization. There are a number of requirements that a person must satisfy before citizenship through naturalization can be granted.

• Visas. Navigating the complex world of visas can be overwhelming, even for someone who is living within the U.S. and who understands immigration law. There are tourist and business visas, work visas, student visas, media and journalist visas, and many more. Our lawyer can help you to understand which visa type is applicable to you, as well as the materials you’ll need to provide and the requirements you’ll need to satisfy in order to secure that visa.

• Visa extensions. If you are currently residing in the U.S. on a visa and want to extend your stay, you will require a visa extension. Similar to securing a visa originally, securing a visa extension requires following a formal process and submitting required documents.

• Green cards. Also known as a permanent resident card, having a green card means that you’re eligible to work and live in the United States for an indefinite period of time; getting a green card is what many immigrants to the U.S. aspire to do. There are many ways to get a green card, including eligibility through family, refugee or asylee status, as a special immigrant, employment, and more. Speak with our attorneys about your options.

• Employment-based immigration. One way that many immigrants enter the United States is through employment. Employment-based immigration means that the immigrant employee who is entering the United States has a U.S.-based employer who is sponsoring their visa application. Employment visas are available for jobs in various industries throughout the country.

• Criminal defense for immigrants. For many immigrants who are living in the county—including those who are here lawfully and unlawfully—there is real fear around the possibility of being charged with a crime. Being charged with a crime can result in a number of criminal penalties, including deportation in some cases.
